kate & cake co is a small order custom cake + dessert studio located just north of Seattle, WA. Created by and run exclusively as a single person business, pastry chef Katie Buss specializes in top-tier cakes and desserts, sugar flowers and sweet confections.
Pacific Northwest born & raised, Katie Buss grew up with a passion for sweets & baking — creating kate & cake co in 2012, and moving to NYC in 2015 to attend The International Culinary Center (founded as The French Culinary Institute, FCI). Katie received her Grand Diplôme in Professional Pastry Arts, graduating top of class with distinction, and with top honors & awards. She also got the amazing opportunity to volunteer at the James Beard House and with JBF on several occasions throughout New York City, volunteered at school based events for world renowned chefs such as Jacques Torres and Ron Ben Israel, had a coveted internship at Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events catering, and was the recipient of the 2015 James Beard Taste America scholarship.
At kate & cake co we believe in using all top shelf ingredients, purchased locally and seasonally — all desserts are made fresh and by hand, custom, and from scratch, 100%.
